Maggie Abbott B.Ed, BA, M.Ed., CCC, ND. (she/her)

Maggie is a Canadian Certified Counsellor and holds a master degree in Counselling Psychology from Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador. She has over a decade of experience working with children, teens, adults, and families in various capacities including the non-profit, education, and health sectors. Maggie is a member of the Canadian Association for Play Therapy (CAPT) and Postpartum Support International (PSI). She is currently completing a certificate program in Grief and Loss as well as a certification in Perinatal Mental Health.

Maggie has extensive experience and a love for supporting children, teens, and their families. She offers play-based counselling services to children, teens, and their caregivers to help support them with anxiety, depression, challenging behaviour, parenting support, emotional regulation, grief and loss, self-esteem, and relationship challenges. Her therapy space has a sandtray, puppets, games, art supplies, and other play materials.

Maggie also provides counselling services to adults. She discovered a passion for working with adults who are experiencing trauma and grief through supporting survivors of sexual violence and newcomers to Canada. In addition, her experience with becoming a new mom during the heights of the COVID-19 pandemic has drawn to the area of perinatal mental health and working with individuals during pregnancy, postpartum, fertility challenges, and loss. She also provides support for adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, parenting challenges, and life transitions.

Maggie believes in creating a safe and non-judgemental space for her clients so they can work collaboratively to set individualized therapeutic goals. She takes an eclectic approach to counselling, drawing primarily from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and approaches within a play-based model.

Jaclyn Browne (she/her)

Jaclyn Browne (she/her) is a Registered Psychologist in Newfoundland and Labrador. She holds undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Education (Intermediate/Secondary) and a masters degree in Counselling Psychology, all from Memorial University, paired alongside two years of postgraduate supervision.

Since receiving her academic training, she has worked as a Psychologist with Western Health, a School Psychologist and in private practice. Jaclyn is equipped to combine her academic training alongside her hands-on experience working with individuals across the lifespan which enables her to deliver assessments and supportive interventions with competency and a client-centered approach.

In her work, Jaclyn’s particular focus and interest has been attuned to understanding and supporting individuals with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Specific Learning Disabilities, Intellectual Disabilities and other Neurodevelopmental and behaviour based concerns. She is committed to practicing with a neuro-affirming lens, recognizing and valuing the unique strengths and needs of each individual. Meet Sharon (she/her) a compassionate and caring Registered Psychologist with over 25 years of experience in the field of education and mental health. Throughout her career, Sharon has worked as a school psychologist within the Newfoundland and Labrador English School District as well as private practice. Her passion for supporting children and families has led her to specialize in providing trauma-informed and neuro-affirming assessments and services.

With a wealth of experience in assessing school-aged children, Sharon offers a range of assessments tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. These assessments include Specific Learning Disorder, Intellectual Disability, Behavioral Assessment, Child and Adult ADHD, and Cognitive Assessment. Drawing from her extensive studies and professional background, Sharon embraces a solution-based philosophy in her approach to client care. Jessica is a Certified Canadian Counsellor(CCC) and Naturopath (ND) holding a masters degree in Counselling Psychology from Memorial Univerity and a masters degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis from The University of Western Ontario. She is a member in good standing with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.

Ashley is a registered clinical social worker with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Social Workers and holds both a Master of Social Work and a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador. She has over 12 years of social work experience, working alongside individuals and families, within a variety of practice settings.

Ashley’s practice stems from a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach, with a focus on creating safe and inclusive spaces for all. Marlena is a Registered Speech-Language Pathologist, graduating from the University of Alberta in 2013. She has experience working with clients across the lifespan from preschool children, school-aged children/youth, to adults. She has worked in a variety of settings including private practice, schools, and public healthcare. She has a special interest in working closely with language delayed preschool children (Late Talkers) and their families, supporting them to make meaningful connections, improve communication, and generalize these skills through fun, play-based interactions. Laura Parsons M.Ed, DCP(c), CCC, ND, PMH-C Co-Founder & Director (she/her)

Laura is a Canadian Certified Counsellor and holds a master degree in Counselling Psychology from Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador. Crystal has worked primarily with children, adolescents and families for the past 15 years, in both government and community settings.

Crystal practices from a trauma informed, strengths based approach. She believes connection and safety are key components in a therapeutic alliance and strives to ensure clients feel safe to show up as themselves. She strongly values the therapeutic use of self and using a collaborative approach with clients as they move toward healing.

He has recently returned back to St. John’s, after coaching hockey for the last four years in Quebec.
